Birthdays seem to be the event to buy those extravagant cakes at the local bakery. I admit that for years I spent $20 + on cakes that last us 2 days. You take the picture and before you know it, the thought of that cake has left your mind.
If you want to save money....make your own! All the ingredients (including sprinkles & shapes) can be purchased for around $5.00!!
My son loves to make cakes. He loves all the decorating he gets to do with the sprinkles and shapes. It is also great getting him involved in making something special for a loved one. And I will always remember the cake that he poured half the container of sprinkles on! That one was hard to eat!!
So, save some money and create some happy memories with your family....bake your cake!!
