I'm not going to tell you to turn the lights off when you leave the room. Although that would be a great way to save a little bit on the electric bill.
What I am going to say is.... turn your heat / air down when you leave the house. No one is going to be there....so why are you paying to heat/cool space??? When the weather is decent we turn the heat/air off completely. When it is hot or cold, we turn it down enough so that it lowers the bill but still keeps the pets comfortable. It may be a little cool in the winter when we come home, but we can warm it up in a few minutes.
So, consider lowering your thermostat 5 to 10 dregrees when you leave, and you will be sure to lower your electric bill!!
