CVS Extra Bucks & The Sunday Paper

Last weekend I had to use some Extra Bucks before they expired. I had like $1.99 and thought about the Sunday paper. I asked the cashier if I could use the EB on the paper, and she didn't know. I grabbed a breakfast bar (I needed 49 cents more to use the EB's) and had her ring them up.

IT WORKED!!!!

I paid 57 cents for the Sunday paper and a breakfast bar!

So, now I don't pay for all the coupons I need to save money!

How awesome is that!

Happy 4th Tip & CVS

You don't have to spend lots of money on fireworks to have a great time on the 4th. You can attend your city's fireworks show, watch it on TV, or watch others in your neighborhood set off fireworks.

One of our neighbors spent about $500 on fireworks this year, so we decided to watch all the cool colors! Don't think you have to spend lots of money to have fun.

I went to CVS today and spent $6 on $24 worth of items. I was hoping to do better, but didn't have the time to collect more coupons.

Have a safe and fun 4th of July!!

2008 CVS Yearly Update

I updated my CVS totals for February.

With the eBay sales, I actually profited $8.47 in February!

And...if I subtract February's profit from January's out of pocket, I have only spent $2.44 out of pocket for 2008!!

So..$2.44 for $400 worth of products...I can handle that!! :0)

Now lets see what March brings!!

Selling CVS Items on Ebay

Ok, so I am selling the free & almost free items I get (and couldn't give away!) on Ebay. My goal is to make back some of the money I have spent out of pocket. So far this year I have spent a little over $15 for $300 worth of items. Thats like getting all this stuff for 95% off!! An awesome deal, but I would like to see if I could spend nothing (or close to it) this year for all the CVS stuff. It is now my goal!!!! So, stay tuned and see if it works!

Today was a very long day of plotting my attack on CVS sales and Extra Bucks!!
I made 3 separate trips today to get all I could for the least amount of money.

2 Cans Lysol Spray
2 Excedrin 100ct
Afrin Spray
2 Right Guard Deodorants
2 Boxes Theraflu
Caress Bar Soap (2 pack)

Out of Pocket $1.88 Saved $63.39

Trip # 2:
2 Lysol Spray
11 Bottles Polmolive Dish Soap
Cheer Liquid Laundry Det.
Purell Hand Sanitizer
3 Mabeline Eyeshadows
4 St. Joseph Asprin

Out of Pocket $0 Saved $66.18

Trip #3:
Glide Dental Floss
3 Soft & Dry Deodorant
4 Crest Toothpaste
1 pack of Extra Gum
1 Resees PB Cup
2 M&M Valentine Kids Candy
1 Superman Valentine Kids Candy

Out of Pocket $ .43 Saved $37.17

AND....I have $7 in Extra Bucks for my next purchase!!

Total out of Pocket $ 2.31

Total Saved $166.74

I gave some items to my family, who share their coupons with me! I also shared some with my neighbor who is a single mom and could use a break on prices!

And I'm sooooo emotionally exhausted!! But ...I saved my family (and neighbor) money by planning it out and getting the most for the least!

Tip # 8 CVS Extra Care Bucks

For several years now I have been using CVS as my pharmacy. I never thought to purchase other items there though. But one day someone in the store asked if I had a CVS card. She said I could save so much money using the card. And you know what??? I have!

Here is how I do it:

What you do is get a CVS Extra Care Card at your local CVS store. Have it scanned every time you make a purchase. At the end of the season, they give you Extra Bucks based on the amount you spent that season. You can also get Extra Bucks back for purchasing certain items they advertise. Those Bucks can be used on a future purchase.

Today, I purchased: 2 bottles of Excedrin, 1 pack of pantyliners, and 1 bottle of Fructese 2 in 1 Shampoo / Conditioner. I got $10 worth of items for the grand total of $1.12 !! I combined store sales, with coupons, and Extra Care Bucks for this purchase. And....I got 2 Bucks back for my next purchase! So, really, I got these things for free, and was paid $.88 to take them home!! Not a bad deal!!

So...if you follow any of my tips this year, make this one the one to follow!!!

Happy Saving!
