The Declutter Challenge - Day 1 - The Pantry

THE PANTRY

You know how it is. You spend all that time clipping coupons, making the list, finding all the items at the store, standing in the checkout line, lugging all the bags in, and you just don't care where they go as long as the door shuts! That's my story anyway!

I have the habit of just putting things where they fit. And now, I don't really know what I have.

I thought this would be fitting for the first day of my challenge. This is where I spend the most money. If I can get control of this, I can keep an eye on what I really need to get at the grocery store. Total time spent...about 2 hours. Well worth it though!

So here are the before and after pictures.

Shelf 1 is baking and breakfast items
Shelf 2 is drink mixes and condiments
Shelf 3 is rice, spaghetti, and beans
Shelf 4 is drinking water I have stored in jars

I even made a pantry inventory list!

Looks great. I try to leave my pantry a mess until my husband gets so fed up with it that he organizes it for me....

That pantry inventory is such a great idea! It made me laugh when I read that you put food away and just hope the door closes - usually my food sits on the kitchen table next to the pantry for a day or two!

I'm impressed w/ your list. I wish they made an affordable hand held scanner. It would be so easy to scan the item and print out the list to resupply. Blessings to you!

I love it!!! Do you follow the Grocery Game.com??? Your inventory list is great. I did something similar a few weeks back. Now the challenge is to continue to update the list when you buy and use items!
