Thursday Thirteen

Since I am currently in the middle of TS Fay, I thought this post would be fitting!

13 things to do in case of a hurricane

1. Collect important documents and store in a waterproof bag.
2. Make sure you have 1 gallon of water per person per day for at least 3 days
3. Make sure you have 3 to 4 days worth of non perishable food
4. Keep a well stocked emergency kit in case someone gets hurt
5. Stock up on medicines you may need
6. Have plenty of flashlights, batteries, and a battery operated radio
7. Fill your car with gas in case you are told to evacuate
8. Put away outside items that may blow around in the storm
9. Pull together things for children to do if the electricity goes out (books, games, crafts)
10. Charge cell phones in case phone lines go down
11. Map out an escape route in case you have to leave
12. Don't forget your pets...make sure there is at least 3 days of food and water
13. Don't Panic...Just make sure you collect everything you need ahead of time

Great list. Hope Fay bypasses you! We could use some of her rain.

It's always stuff like entertainment for the kids that I'm likely to forget. Great list.

Looks like a great list. I've never had the threat of a TS or a hurricane. But I have been caught at home in a 36 inch snow storm! I was just a teenager so my parents had to take care of things. Good luck with Fay! Send some of her rain up here to Mid-Michigan! We need it bad.
